Albania Whistle Blower's Death Under Scrutiny
This post requires a bit of background. There were issues with Albania exporting cold war ammunition to some less than savory individuals. This led to an investigation and arrests of several people, including some within the United States. However, the arrests only happened AFTER an explosion at an Albanian munitions facility, in which 26 people died.
Kosta Trebicka, an Albania citizen, was a witness who had information on the explosion and the arms trading. An American, company, AEY, was using Trebicka's company to repackage Chinese ammunition cartridges so that they could be used by forces in Afghanistan. Just a slight no no. Trebicka was found on the side of a rural road near his car.
An expert has concluded that the death was the result of a car crash. Albanian's, including those holding the legal profession together, are a might bit skeptical about the findings and the status of their legal system.
