Stay of Execution
With two hours to spare, the U.S. Supreme Court has issued a temporary stay in the execution of Troy Davis. Many of the witnesses have recanted their testimony, explaining that they felt pressured to testify against Davis. Witnesses have come forward with evidence that another man has admitted to the killings. No physical evidence was presented and the murder weapon was never recovered.
Here's to hoping someone who probably never should have been convicted is successful.

And people wonder why I'm so against the death penalty. The sheer number of mistakes that can't be taken back should be enough for anyone to be anti-death penalty. The enormous cost above simply life imprisonment. And let's not forget, "Thou shalt not kill."
